“Alrighty Ma’am, please don’t smile. Ready? 1…2…3!” said the associate. *Flash* In an instant it was done. The printer chirped as the images printed out. The associate called for someone, and a new set of hands came to help me complete the rest of the process. “Here you are ma’am and your total is…$16.99”. Confused, I asked him, “I’m sorry, shouldn’t it be more for all 6 passport photos?” “No, I’ll just keep it simple.” He replied with a smile. I thanked him and the other associate who had helped me and walked out feeling blessed.
In preparing for my trip there have been many moments like this one; moments where I have felt an overwhelming flow of blessing. Where I felt God looked at me and winked and said, “I’m gonna blow your socks off right now. Just to remind you who I am.” In these moments I am humbled. I am floored. I am thankful.
Over the past year, while I have been preparing to go on this rad adventure, I have noted a couple of other times when (*Scottish accent here*) God has blessed me socks right off me feet.
-During my fundraiser in December, I was blessed by the presence of family, friends, and others who attended the event. Their prayerful and financial support truly surprised me.
– Throughout the past year, many wonderful folks have encouraged me, shopped with me, and prayed with me for this venture. I am so thankful for their thoughtfulness and sacrifice of time.
Through those moments I not only felt blessed, but I have been reminded of just how great, kind, & good God is. He knows what we need, He knows how to get it, and He knows when to send it. Which tends to be the best timing, just like 1…2…3!
