Hey guys!
Just wanted to update you guys on the happenings in my World Race life. To say that I have amazing friends/ brothers & sisters in Christ is an understatement. This past Sunday (12/20/15) a few friends joined me in Downtown Charlotte to sign Christmas Carols to raise money for my trip. We had a beautifully wrapped box in front of us and we sang in front of an ice-skating rink. One friend even brought his Sax and graced us with backup music and the occasional solo.
Man I was sooooo scared about doing this. Of course there is the fear of looking stupid and social ridicule, but these fantastic people gave me strength. It was such a testament to the fact that we need each other throughout this journey in life.
Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. There are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
I am so glad that I asked for their help and more so that they actually came to my aid. I can not make this trip happen on my own and with each passing day God is showing me that relying on others is such a blessing. I used to hate it and wanted to do everything on my own. Let me tell you working together is so much more productive and better than working alone sometimes. Don’t shy away from letting your friends bless you because you might be missing out on an opportunity for both you and them to grow closer to each other and God.
