Hello World Race family!

My name is Gabrielle and I am so excited to be writing my first on many blog post before, during, and after my World Race Experience. I am in the October 2016 group and I must say this has to be one of the greatest and scariest times of my life. But I know no matter what God is going to use this experience to glorify him.

For this first post I just wanted to introduce myself to you all and give you a little more information to get to know me. I am from the lovely state of North Carolina and although I wasn’t born there I lived there since the third grade so I guess that’s my home state.

I came to be a part of the World Race literally only through God. I have always loved to travel. This first time I ever left the country I was 13 years old when my father was stationed in Germany. Ever since then I have been struck with need-to-travel-itis which is a crippling mental state in which you can never sit still and yearn to travel the globe, exploring new cultures and meeting new people. Admittedly this love of travel had previously been used for my own selfish desires and so I began praying for God to show me how to use that gift to glorify him. Not to long later while surfing the internet I came across a blog post about a girl who had previously taken part in the world race. Intrigued I looked up the organization and instantly I was like, “Yessssssss!!!!!” I knew this was exactly what I had been praying for.

I really want this experience to be a time for me to grow in my love for God. I want him to humble me and to mold me into a mighty woman for him. I want to laugh, cry, and have my heart opened and filled to the brim with love and empathy for my fell man. I want to be reliant on God and putting my total faith in him. I am pretty sure I am going to find all that and much more during this journey and I can’t wait to get it started.

Well that’s all I have for now. I guess I will get started on Phase I of this project which is raising the funds so that I can actually go..hahaha. That alone will be a big boost in my faith and putting pride on the shelf. Well guys I hope you have a blessed day and I will be talking with you again soon. Love you guys!
