Hello!!

Here is an update from Ethiopia. Africa has been great! This month we are doing UH or Unsung Heroes. UH is essentially when a team has no contact in the country and follows God wherever He leads.

When we arrived at the airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, we rearranged our bags, hugged our squad mates and jumped in a cab. Luckily our awesome leader, Jack had made a reservation at a hotel so we could rest. When he made the reservation he said, ” Set your expectations very low.” So as we got into the cab on our way to this hotel we were expecting beds on the floor covered with rats and bugs. However, when we arrived we found a brand new hotel, with hot showers and tempur-pedic beds. God provides!!!

The next day we fasted and worshipped to hear from God as to where we should go. Some of us felt like God gave us the direction of southwest, while others felt like God was going to give us a person. Very soon after, we connected with a wonderful Pastor. He has been such a great help. We are planning to go to Hawassa, a small town, southwest of Addis Ababa tomorrow. We planned to wait to go to a village until this week because yesterday was Christmas.

With a week of downtime we began looking for something to do. We met a lady that worked in our hotel building named Rodus. Rodus connected us with a non-profit organization named Muday Charity Association and we traveled to meet them last week. While we were there we played and taught the children, cooked with the women, and helped them make this awesome informational video:

This organization was wonderful! Please continue to pray for them and pray that God continues to pour out provisions on them.

Also, keep praying for Team Shema as we head to the bush (rural village) this week. Pray that miracles happen and people come to know God. It’s going to be amazing!!

Thank you all for reading and watching.

Love and miss you all!

Love,

Gabbie
