Hi everyone!!
I am stoked to be saying that I am writing this blog post from Antigua, Guatemala!
We got so blessed with our living accommodations. Its so cool to know how thankful we all are for them though simply because we did expect the worst. We live in the coolest little area, it’s actually called “gringo town”.
But every morning we can go up to our house’s balcony and look out at the most amazing view I’ve ever seen. There are volcanoes surrounding us that we get to simply stand in awe of everyday. One volcano erupted while we were up there watching it the other day; ahhh I love this life!
Our host Luis is amazing! My team and two other teams are helping out with several different ministries in his organization called “Nuevo Genaracion”. My specific ministry (at least for now) is teaching English to different ages. I am so excited because I will get to teach people, and then have conversations with them, and build so many relationships!
The weather here is absolutely beautiful. I am excited to try more of the local food, but wow the coffee is ridiculous (yes I have already had about 10 cups). The currency here is called Quetzales, and the most popular form of transportation is the chicken bus (aka the easiest way to get to know someone because you basically have to sit on their lap).
God is ready to do some big things here in Antigua, and I am still in awe that He has chosen me to be apart of it. He is already speaking to me in ways I didn’t expect and allowing me to build relationships in this community that will become so important. He is calling me deeper into Him and asking me to depend on Him fully and to let go of my feelings of inadequacy and pleasing others (hopefully a blog soon that is more about that).
