So here I am, with 117 weeks of higher-education down, three to go. I’m approaching what my entire life has been building up to so-far– being an adult. Getting a job and making a living. Daunting stuff.

This idea- being a college graduate- has yet to completely set in. We’ve been told what each year is expected to look like our entire lives until now. We get the grades, pass the class, move on to the next school, get accepted into the university and earn the degree. We’ve put in our education servitude and now we’ve earned the right to choose how to spend our days.

But the thing is, this process we’ve been raised on requires little trust. We didn’t need to worry about what the next step was or what it looked like. It was simply expected of us. Laid out like a perfectly portioned meal-prep.

So, when this isn’t an option for us anymore, we try to supplement the next natural step for the commonality of the people. We peak over into other people’s grocery carts to see what they’ll be having for dinner. We try to gather what everyone around us is doing next and take it as our own.

The thing is though, God created each of our paths to look differently. There is no generic right or wrong career, place, adventure, or timing. While it can be tempting to seek a path of security and commonality, your intentional God has a unique plan for you. And The Guy’s got the best track record there is. From the beginning of time, He’s been crafting his people’s futures, illuminating it to them step by step.

Isiah 41:13 tells us, “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.”

What can we take away from this sweet truth? God’s got your future. Put yourself in a good position and trust that He will provide for you. From Paul, we know that all things work together for the good for those who love Him and are called to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
