I read the names of the countries on this upcoming route that I had asked to consider Team Leading for and thought, “I really have no interest in those places.” I mean, I was hoping for Central America or back to some of the other Asian countries I had fallen in love with.

But it became very clear to me shortly after that God was saying, “Frieda, it’s not about location. It’s about the people.”

And, yes, I will be meeting new and amazing people in the countries of Mongolia, China, and Kazakhstan. But I also have the opportunity to walk alongside some very precious girls as they begin their journey on the World Race.

I’ll be telling you more about these beautiful girls once I finally get to meet them face-to-face in a few days!!!

For now, I wanted to share a little more on my heart behind Team Leading, especially since I was only home 19 days and am now headed back to Atlanta to prepare for these next steps. (So sorry to those whom I wasn’t able to catch up with! See you in November)

I said yes to Team Leading because I want to love people. On the Race, I experienced brokenness and dependence on the Lord in overwhelming ways…and I had some amazing people to walk with me through that. And, now, I get to do that. I get to love and encourage Racers through the pivotal moments of the start of their journey. I will help set the tone for the rest of the year and that is a great responsibility and privilege.

Sure, my role will also mean helping with the logistical side of a few things— travel, ministry set up, finances, and all the other fun stuff that makes up the Race.

And I need your help to be there for my specific team— HKS.
It means Hallal Kappa Shalom (HKS)

The girls explained it means “spontaneously worship and cover with redemption and restoration!” These girls already have my heart!

So, please, continue following my blog because I intend to keep you updated. And, prayerfully, consider donating. The total amount is $4,700 and I still have a ways to go.
