M- Mzungu– This was the term widely used in all three countries to refer to white people. We heard it everywhere we went!

N-Nile River– Who would have thought I would be able to say I’ve swam in the Nile and rope swung into it, too!

O-Owl– I got to see a little owl on our way to see the sunrise at Mt. Paka.

P-Pokat Tribe– The name of the unreached people group we visited in Kenya.

Q-Quite– I am an early riser so most mornings were my introvert time. I’d be up by 5:45am in Uganda and at 4am in Kenya.

R- Red Dirt– The red dirt of Africa stained EVERYTHING!

S- Squatty Potty– You know, just your normal hole in the ground to do your business in…

T-Tents– Due to all the annoying mosquitos, we had to pitch our tents indoors to get some shuteye while we were in Uganda. In Kenya, we slept outside in our tents.

U- Ugali– a traditional cornmeal porridge that we ate many, many times

V-Visa– The continent was the first place we need visas for. And we got one visa that covered all three countries.

W- Washing– We spent a lot of time washing our clothes and dishes outside and being taught to do it the right way 😉

X-X marks the spot for my second visit to the Equator, but this time in Kenya.

Y- Yesu Ni Safari– In Swahili, “Jesus is a Journey.” Something I have definitely learned is that this life is a process. Healing takes time, maturity takes time, forgiveness takes time, etc.

Z-Zoo– I didn’t go to an actual zoo but I did get to see baboons, camels, and zebras while driving on the roads.
