Uganda, I would remember you because of:

1.  First time experiences on:

Labor & delivery room on
this mission journey.

Witnessing a rare fetal
abnormality known as anencephaly, a serious birth defect in which a baby is
born without parts of the brain and skull

Slaughtering chicken

I never thought I would ride
a motor-bike in my life time until I arrived on your land. Motor-bike, aka
‘boda boda’ are the main way of transportation in places far away from Kampala,
the capital city

Eating cassava

Rafting the Nile

Bungee jumping, again into
the Nile River. Craziest thing I had ever done in my entire life!

Running through banana
plantation

10K, done, check it off the
list!

2.  Others:

Ate a lot of sweet potatoes.
I didn’t like them before

For the most part, the
natives thought I was Ugandan, and would just speak to me in their native
tongue. No clue of what they were saying.

There was no power in our
home; the shower was outside where others could know you were taking one, since
they could see your head; the toilet had a hole in the ground.

Uganda, you will be in
my heart!

And Thank You for the beautiful, tasty, holy, scary, and adventures experiences you have given me.
