Well it’s the first of December and so apparently it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. I’ve seen some Christmas lights put up on lampposts and we have a small decorated tree in our hostel. However, it is still sunny and warm here which seems a bit weird.

So, I have a request. Well, more something for you to ponder over really. I don’t know what you’re doing about Christmas and presents at all but obviously this whole festive season is looking different for me. I won’t have any of you buying me chocolate coins, or leaving me a stocking or presents under a tree, or anything like that. And I’m ok with that.

Instead, if you are contemplating how you can bless me this Christmas, I’d like to humbly request you consider one of the following.

  • Eagles Wings, the Orphanage we worked with in China have already completed their holiday fundraiser, but they are still in need of general donations or, better still, on-going sponsorship for the children they care for. They receive no funding from the Chinese or any other governments and so rely solely on inidividuals’ and churches’ donations.

  • Alternatively, a number of my squad-mates are low on their support raising and today is a fundraising target for them. If they don’t meet it there is a strong chance they will have to return to the US to get more support before they can return to the field with us. Please consider helping one or more of them stay by donating toward their targets, so that they don’t have to miss out on ministry opportunities out here.
