Let’s quickly start by mentioning Friday morning – I finally went and got some surfing in! Admittedly it wasn’t part of a ministry (we’re keeping the same people teaching for the whole month for consistency in relationship building), but I got to have a go. I was kneeling up on the board and everything. I’m not quite at the point of standing, but soon enough…

That was exciting, but the real excitement was what we did this weekend. The thing that God richly provided for because He loves us so much (see previous blog). I imagine you’ve scrolled to see all the pictures already so yes, that’s it – we went bungee jumping! And not just any bungee jump, a group of 18 of us all plummeted off of the highest bridge bungee jump in the world! All 216 metres (710 feet) of it!!! Ha ha! It was amazing. Words will never describe, so here’s pictures (not that they do much better):

Out of our entire group I was the first person to go – no pressure then.

As you may be able to tell, I botched the jump a little because I started falling feet first – error. That’s ok though, it meant I had to manoeuvre myself during free fall, which actually added to the sensation of feeling like flying.

It’s a strange feeling hanging upside down with a huge drop below you and yet a huge height above you. Fortunately, it’s no too long before someone comes down to bring you back up.

If you ever get a chance – do it. It’s amazing. I initially thought “once I’ve done it I’ll have done the highest in the world, so why ever do it again?”, but now that I have I cannot wait for the opportunity to do another one, even if it’s not as big because it’s exhilarating.

Now you can watch the video to end on:

Well, that’s my Christmas present early (there will likely not be anything like this in Mozambique). Hope you enjoyed watching 🙂
