We have been given Wednesday off from ministry, which is very weird since we had our normal days off already. The host organization, Operation Mobilization Madagascar (OM), lets us know about an event that is happening that day, and they gave us the day so we could attend. It’s an event for young people that encourages them to Rise Up in their faith and spread the gospel. They want us to be there.

But when Wednesday came, I was tired. It had been a hard month, and I had no clue what to expect from this rally. Flashbacks of 3 hr long African church services played in my mind. So many people had chosen not to go. I could simply stay back and rest or write or read. But a small voice was pushing me to go, so, knowing how the Holy Spirit works, I went.

There were only 10 people that chose to go. Out of 46. We walked in and sat because we were an hour early. I still had no clue why I was there.

Then it began….

And it was GREAT! There were hundreds of young, Malagasy people that loved God there. They had opening performances that sang, danced, and did poetry. But my favorite part was when praise and worship began, a group of people  began dancing on the side. So we joined in and praised the Lord with our dance and joy, since we had no clue what the words were saying.

We left early, but it was a great time. And to think that I almost didn’t go because I was tired and wanted to nap.

So why did that little voice nudge me to go? And why did I answer?

I am on a once-in-a-lifetime journey with God, and even though routes are launched every few months, there will never be a route like this, experiences like the ones we have the chance to take part of, and encounters with God like no other. I only get this exact chance once. And I have the ability to take it all in or create complacency in each place I go.

It is 100% possible to be complacent on the race. It is easier than you may think to live like a tourist, eating typical food, and staying in your comfort zone. But that’s not what God wants and that’s not where He gets to show His glory or your purpose. It’s when we make ourselves uncomfortable and open to what God wants that He gets to do really awesome things in our lives.

I don’t want to make comfort in 12 countries. I want God to use me in 12 countries. I want to see God’s people in 12 countries. I want to worship alongside of my brothers and sisters, and bring the Kingdom of Heaven to every country and city I go in. I will not take this chance for granted because God put me here for a reason.
