WE’RE EN ROUTE!

Yesterday (before yesterday? Time differences are very real) our team head out to begin our journey to the Philippines!

We started by jumping on a plane from Atlanta to Los Angeles, followed by a 12 hour layover there! Meaning we got to hang out in LA and go to Manhattan beach for the day. ”Twas the DREAM.

We walked, we ate, we prayed for our uber drivers and waiters, we watched the sunset, we dipped our toes in the Pacific, and in all of it we just enjoyed a day with the Lord and our friends in LA. It was such a kind thing for Papa to allow us such a restful day before heading out on our 14-hour flight to Taiwan before heading to the Philippines.

Now I’m sitting in the Taipei airport, writing this blog, surrounded by my new family called O squad, and while they may not be here, that includes our staff too. It’s wild how unified God has already made us and how close we’ve already gotten. We’ll say that I may or may not have cried leaving our beautiful staff in Atlanta, but we all know it’s so worth it!

Later today we’ll land in the Philippines and make our way to Antipolo-Rizal with our host ministry – The Children’s Garden! There we’ll be working with boys aged 12-18 who have come from rough backgrounds such as fatherless homes, drugs, alcoholic It’s so crazy to think that this thing we’ve been looking forward to for so long is actually hear. Honestly, even though we had a 14 hour flight across the Pacific and I’m in Taiwan, I definitely haven’t realized that it’s happening yet. With that being said, we’re all still so excited and we would definitely love your prayers 🙂

Please be praying for:
– Unity amongst our teammates as we begin Life and ministry together! John 13:35 says that people will know us by our love. We want our lives to represent the love of Christ so much that people see Jesus in us and see what healthy, beautiful community is supposed to look like, and we want to invite them into it with Jesus!
– Favour with our ministry hosts and the boys we work with. I want to love them well and bless them more than they bless me!
– Simple prayer, but that we wouldn’t be exhausted or sick from our 36 hours of travel! We want to rock this month with everything we have and we don’t want our physical bodies to hold us back from that
– Last, that we would love God and love people with all our hearts, souls, minds, and bodies. Pray that He would give us His eyes to see His people just like He does and to love them like He does.

Thank you guys so much for partnering with me in prayer. I’m so excited to see what God does and so excited to share it with you all 🙂
