Hey, I’m Faith! I am 18 years old and currently in the last semester of my senior year of high school at Webster Schroeder in New York state! I have been living in New York state for about a year and a half, but previously lived in Kansas, Nebraska, Arizona, etc. I enjoy most things outdoors, like hiking, chasing sunsets, and snoozing in a hammock. I am a huge fan of alternative music or really any kind that makes me feel like I’m living! Also, I love traveling to new places and exploring and learning from new cultures while loving others.
I grew up in a Christian household my entire life. My dad is and has been a pastor since the time I was young and my mother has tackled lots of different jobs while helping anyone she can. They both have been apart of missions, traveling to places such as Haiti and Africa, and seeing how it impacted their lives had me curious at such a young age. I had the amazing opportunity to travel to El Salvador back in February of 2018 and again this year with an organization called Young Life. Young Life itself has shaped me into the woman I am today and has given me a helping hand into learning more about God and how I was not alone in the daily struggles of high school. I took a HUGE leap of faith and went on these mission trips not knowing how much it would change my life! Seeing open arms and hearts full of love was incredible and knowing that no one there was going to judge me for not looking my best really showed me how much I put into my appearance. Long story short, these missions trips have opened my heart to missions and my love for them and I can not imagine doing anything other than this!
I believe the Lord has opened my heart to missions and loving others unconditionally while growing in my faith. Though I am not sure where exactly he wants me to be or how to reach people, I know this trip is going to expand my heart and mind and get me ready for my future self. At the end of the day, I am here to serve and I am STOKED!
I ask that you stand in prayer with me for the lost of the nations. Pray the Lord to prepare the hearts and minds of our team, and the people we will interact with, for miracles, healings, and salvations. Pray that my team and I would be sensitive to the Lord’s voice, and to trust and obey it at all times. Pray that my team and I would be humble servants to the lost and that we would boldly emulate Christ in all we do.
