Adventures to Singapore

A little story of how God is more powerful than anything in this world.

Between the end of our ministry and travel days we had the time to take a little break. So people when to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia but other decided to cross the board to Singapore. I debated going to Singapore for a while because I am not fully funded so I felt guilty going and doing something fun.  I heard that they had the largest aquarium in the world, which only furthered by desire to go.  I prayed about it and I finally realized God gave me the opportunity for a reason and he had something for me there.  So the adventure to actually get there was quite a trip.  After missing a train and buying 3 different tickets I finally made it.  I was not going to let the enemy attack and try and steal me joy.

Although the trip ended up costing even more than I planned it was totally worth it.  Because I missed my first train I had to get on another one later that day.  However it was a total gift from God because I met two great guys on the train.  Both have traveled the world and seen many places.  They have actually been to almost every country we will go too and have written down information about each place.  It was cool to spend time with them and just be encourage by the things they had already seen and done in the countries to come.  They also are giving us places to stay, people to meet, and where to go.  It was beautiful and I am glad I missed my first train to meet them.

However the blessings don’t end there.  I finally arrived to Singapore and found the team I was suppose to be with.  Because I was a day late getting there, the bed I was suppose to have was booked so I had to go to a different room than the team.  Which didn’t bother me and was quite nice to meet new people.  I put my stuff in the room and went out for the day and yes, I got to go to the aquarium!! It was one of the best ways to see how creative and wonderful our God is. I just sat in his beautiful creation and admired his amazing talent.  It was refreshing and started preparing me for my next country.

Later I thought that my day couldn’t get any better and then God surprised me once again. I was sitting in my room and getting ready for bed and another girl comes in the room.  We begin talking and I find out she is from Vietnam!!! I was like hey I’m going there in a few days. I asked her where she was from and guess what?!? It’s the same place I’m going! So with all the excitement in my heart I just asked her tons of questions.  I found out that she and her friends run a charity for the homeless.  During big times of the year they go out and fed and cloth them.  The moon festival just ended in Vietnam and that is one of the big times of year she is able to serve many people.  The next huge time is Christmas and she is already getting prepared for it.  Honestly my mouth was on the ground and I asked her if she would like any help preparing and she was so open to it.  I began to search deeper into why she feels this calling and if it is from religious principles.(Shhhhh don't tell anyone) She said yes and long story short she told me she was a C h r i s t i a n!!!!!!! I had no idea my heart could be so full of joy.  As we began discussing the things we could do in this next month together I began to see how beyond wonderful God really is.  She also works at a dance studio and teaches girls dance for free.  Often times they come from low income families, orphans, and homeless. She even invited me to come teach them some gymnastics. There are no words to even compare to the joy I have in my heart about this next month to come.

After talking to her for several hours I found out that she wants to learn more about God with me and my team.  She wants to do bible studies and talk about him more but she didn’t think it would work because she doesn’t have an English bible.  However little does she know she will have one within the next few days!  I finally found one that is a recommendable translation, which is apparently a lot more difficult that I realized. So worth the doubled price of American bibles though.  I am beyond excited to give it to her.

I began to realize that every single dollar it took to get to Singapore was totally worth it.  I am so glad I didn’t get too discouraged with making it to Singapore. God had this whole plan worked out and there was no reason to be upset by it. I am still in shock over this trip and I’m trying to process what he has to show me through all of it.  It makes me beyond excited about the month to come and the blesses that he will continue to show me.

Praise him!
