Missions Starts At Home
I’m sure by the title many of you are like, WHAT!?!? How could this be? What happened? Are you Ok? So what are you going to do?
Yes. It is true. I am no longer going on the World Race August Expedition 2018 and my heart is honestly deeply saddened. I have had the chance to build beautiful meaningful relationships with the Expedition Squad and was truly looking forward to the journey of a lifetime with them. In less than 5 months my 1st world race family will be going on their journey without me. It wasn’t in my original plan, but it was always in God’s.
It was NOT an easy decision to make and it came about through much prayer and honestly just eventually submitting and just trusting the Lord concerning this and so many other aspects of my life. As mentioned in previous blogs moving back home to Atlanta has honestly been a true faith builder, character shaper and heart changer and it hasn’t even been a full 2 months!
I love the saying, “If you want a life of adventure, follow Jesus.”
Imagine everyday knowing that He loves you and has the best planned for you but NOT knowing in detail what that will look like from day to day. Man, some of us with control issue just shudder at the thought of the latter, lol.
Today, I woke up knowing I would post this blog and knowing that my life is in His hands but not really knowing so many other things and that’s ok……
Oh yes, so now that I am no longer going on the World Race Expedition Route 2018 what next?

JANUARY 2019 WORLD RACE UNSCRIPTED ROUTE!!!
Yes, I am now committed to a new route and new world race 11n11 journey.
I will STILL be traveling to 11 different countries (or more) in 11 months to share the love of Jesus. Just not until January 2019!
World Race: Unscripted is a World Race journey with a primary focus of cultivating a lifestyle of listening and responding to the voice of God. As an Unscripted Racer, I will minister to the people God leads me to each day – much like the early disciples did. This journey will teach me to listen for God’s voice each day, to lead me to ministry opportunities. The goal of this experience is to train me to live a mission focused lifestyle that will succeed long after my 11-month journey.
I will start my journey with my squad and team in Cambodia & travel through Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, Botswana, Bulgaria, Serbia, Spain, Peru, Ecuador and finally finish in Colombia before returning to the states.
11 months back in Atlanta in the states before going 11 months abroad… coincidence? I think not. God is so sovereign and intentional and purposeful and the more I see His heart and love for me to be healed whole and free in every way I just want to melt. I am a firm believer that MISSIONS STARTS AT HOME. Going out to other nations is great but what about the nation you live in? What about your immediate family? Friends? Coworkers? Colleagues? Associates? Employees? Clients? Fellow gym rats? Neighbors? Fellow grocery shoppers? What about Your community? Your school? Your sphere of influence. IT STARTS HERE.
I am not at all discouraging any one from going to take Jesus to the nations. CLEARLY that’s exactly what I plan to do and have been doing for some years now. However, I can’t help but think of the state of America, a nation that other countries are sending missionaries to, yet we have so many people who profess to be Christians? Something is wrong and does not add up. Things have to change, and I am willing to be part of that change.
August is around the corner and my first squad will start their journey. As I pray for them, I charge them to live the gospel out loud daily and boldly. Stay unified and keep the main thing the main thing. JESUS. (insert squad hand shake)
To my new squad: I can’t wait to get to know each of you and do this thing called life with you all, the Jesus way.
To all my family, friends’ supporters and just passerbys reading this blog. I pray that with each blog a fire is lit in you to do something different and be all that God has created you to be. Don’t settle. You were made for more.
We were made by God and for God. Until we understand that, life will never make sense.
