God’s Plan, My Journey.

11 Countries, 11 Months, The World Race…

After finishing a major milestone in my life – graduating from college – I came to the realization about what is actually important in life. God has been using multiple elements to work on my heart with this realization, I just had to listen. It isn’t money, it isn’t the degree, and it isn’t being a part of the status quo. What is important is MY relationship with Him, and loving HIS people. God has continued to show me how important it is to care for others through the short term mission work I have done, and also throughout my study of Social Work. God has given me a deep satisfaction that I haven’t found anywhere else while I am serving others. After my missions trip to Puerto Penasco, Mexico, over spring break in 2014, I knew that my life after graduation wasn’t going to be typical. That week in Mexico God revealed to me part of His plan for my future. God planted a seed in my heart for long term missions, and He opened my eyes to a unique opportunity.

Well, I am blessed to announce that I have been accepted to go on The World Race! The World Race is a Christian mission’s trip that ventures to eleven different countries, and lasts eleven months. I will be going on an all Asian route with about 60 other racers, and while in each country we will split into teams of 5-7 people. The countries are:

My route will leave in September, 2015. The work we will be doing focuses on serving “the least of these” while immersing the racers into the real and raw community. The type of work varies in each country. We will be doing ministry of almost every kind, and in various settings. The ministries involve but are not limited to: Campus ministries, construction, assisting orphanages, helping victims of human trafficking, evangelizing, teaching, and working with local churches. Housing and food will vary in each country, though our normal settings will be a tent and sleeping bag, while we live off of $2.50 a day for food.

Humbling myself and asking my friends and family for support is uncomfortable – yet I know that God is not only using this experience to grow me spiritually, but He will use this to pull others close to Him. I am trusting that God will put me on the hearts of those who are called to support me, and partner with me in this journey.

Firstly, this trip is going to be spiritually, emotionally, and physically challenging. I am going to need prayer as I prepare myself for the trip, and while I am gone. I need people who want to commit to pray for me throughout my whole 11 month journey. I would love for you to be my prayer partner, to help encourage and support me before and during the trip

Secondly, as I prepare for my departure one of the biggest challenges will be finding financial support. The total I need to be fully funded is $16,257. The final deadline for funds is December 31st. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the eleven months of the trip. Financial Deadlines:

  • Jun 19th 2015 – $3500
  • Aug 21st 2015 – $10,000
  • Oct 31st 2015 – $13,000
  • Dec 31st 2015 – $16,267

Financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as monthly donation. You can donate by clicking the “Support Me!” button on the bottom right hand corner of my blog. If you would like to donate by check, please contact me and I will send you a pre-addressed envelope, and the donation card that needs to be included when you mail it in.

I know that God has called me to go on this journey, and because of that I will also be committing personal funds to ensure that I am obedient to Him. I don’t know how God is going to use this trip to change me, but I do know that it will push me out of my comfort zone and force me to rely and grow in Him.

As I take this step of faith, and trust the Lord -would you prayerfully consider joining me? If you have any questions or would like to further discuss my trip with me, please call or email me (303-877-2006, [email protected]). I would also love to meet with anyone who would like to discuss all this information in further detail! Please subscribe to my blog to keep up with my fundraising efforts, my prayer requests, and to follow me on my journey. I am looking forward to this complete surrender as I follow God’s plan for me.

Yours in Christ,

Faith
