Today being the 1st day of 2016, it seems fitting that a lot of changes are taking place. We are wrapping up debrief and preparing to head off towards our new ministries. We also now have completely new teams.
On the World Race – they believe in discomfort. They also believe in pushing all of us forward in growth. Because of that, sometimes things such as Team Changes occur. Well, it happened! Meet my new team below:
Felicia Peña (our new team leader!)

Andrea Burrow (our team treasurer!)

Kayla Zilch

Taylor Slagh (on the left) And Joy Grayczyk (on the right)

And, I am still with my Kaybear: Kayla Garrison

Our new team name is: “Human”. It symbolizes that we are going to create a culture where our uniqueness is celebrated, and where we have the freedom to fail. It will remind us that we aren’t striving for perfectionism, and that we are all perfect in weakness.
2 Cor 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”
I am super ecstatic that I am still on an all girls team. I absolutely loved the freedom it brought me to feel, express myself, and to love strongly these last four months. I think God is really going to grow all of us women in new and exciting ways as a new team.
As our team make a memory yesterday we created team anklets/bracelets. We all picked a color to reprisent ourselves, and then knotted them together to symbolize unity. I am really looking forward to the drive this team has for unity, and the friendships that will unfold with that.
Colossians 2:2 “My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, Christ, in whom are hidden all treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Although I am excited, I am also still processing the loss of team Ichthys. I am truly grateful for the four months I’ve had with them, and the opportunity we had to create those friendships. I am also thankful that this isn’t goodbye forever! I can still see them when we all travel together as a squad – and for squad debriefs. It is definitely a new transition though, and in that there always seems to be some pain and discomfort.
It is nice to still have Kayla G. on a team with me though. There is a comfort that comes with being known, and a security that I am finding in that as we move forward.
All of the beautiful women I am transitioning with truly are incredible. I am so looking forward to the knowledge I can glean from each one of them. They are all so unique, and I admire something different in each one of them! It is truly going to be a wonderful opportunity to learn, grown, and develop more into the women God desires me to be.
As for new ministry! This is all the information we have so far as a team:
We will be working with a ministry named Flaming Sword Ministries, in the city of Kadoma, Zimbabwe.
Our team will be focusing on evangelism, children evangelism, and visiting children’s homes, old people’s homes, home visitations, and school ministries.
We have a 23hour minimum travel experience coming up on Sunday, so that will be another adventure. Depending on the internet situation, I will hopefully update you more in the ministry area once we get to talk with our host and get settled in! I’ve heard rumors that the internet situation will be a lot more difficult than it has this month though.
I would love prayers specifically for team unity, safety with travels, and for all of us as a squad as we adjust to our new teams emotionally.
