The time has finally come! I’ve gotten spoiled enough on this thing called the World Race, it is now time to rough it. We are leaving the comforts of Europe – the hot water, the beds, the electricity, the Internet… And journeying into the depths of South Africa!
It is going to be really hard to leave Macedonia. I’ve loved the time I have been blessed to get to spend here, not only with the people here but also with God. As I say the hard goodbyes, I try and remember that that Lord has more to come.
I don’t have all the details for Africa yet – but I do have some. I know that we are flying out of Skopje, Macedonia on the 2nd of December – and into Johanesberg, South Africa.
We won’t be starting ministry right away, because we are going to be partaking in what the race calls a Leadership Development Weekend. I have little detail for what that looks like. I just know that we will be doing some trainings as a squad, and worshipping together.
My team and I will leave Johanesberg on the 5th and head to White River, South Africa. This is where we will be doing ministry for the month of December! AND we get to do ministry this month with all of the women on the squad.
All 30 of us ladies will be TENTING on the property of the local church we will be serving with. I’m going into this with an open mind and open heart – expecting to love this journey into 90 degree weather. Yay for the blessing of the heat, and not freezing in our tents!
As for ministry, we will be helping with odd jobs around the church (gardening and cleaning type work), as well as hosting some Christmas parties in orphanages around the area. We will also we be taking a part in the annual Christmas production that the church hosts.
I’m super excited that I get to continue working with orphans, and am looking forward to growing more deeply with the lovely women on this squad. I am hoping that as we delve more intamately into this journey together, that we will also push each other more towards worship and the Lord.
I am expecting to have very little Internet these next three months – but will try to update you as regularly as I can!
I would be so appreciative if y’all could keep us in your prayers as we journey into this new adventure. Prayers for safe travels, safety, open hearts and minds, and that God will continue to mold us into the women He is desiring us to become.
Also, my final financial deadline is THIS month. I am in need of $3,169 more to reach the deadline on December 31st.
If you feel led, please pray about partnering with me in this way. I know that in America the stresses of the holidays are already pouring down, but I urge you to prayerfully consider donating if God is tugging at your heart.
I am so grateful for all of the support that has already come in. Thank you for all of the prayers and all of the donations! I feel hugely blessed to be able to be on this journey, and to be able to give my time to the Lord.
When I first signed up for the race the $16,267 seemed like such a HUGE number, but I kept telling myself to trust God. Like always, trusting in Him has payed off! He has already provided me with the $13,098 and I have been incredibly humbled by Him in this situation.
Thank you all for reading! And I pray blessings over you and your families as you journey into a new month!
