Yesu ni safari means Jesus is a journey in Swahili. I think we are all aware of the fact that our life is a journey. That we discover more and more things the older we get. That we move on. That we take different roads. That the journey on earth ends.
Our host in Kenya was passionate about inner healing. He did inner healing class with us and a few staff from the ministry two times. The first class was about judgements and vows, the second about soul ties. It brought different things in each of us up. But in all breakthroughs, in all freedom, in all confusion, in all tears, in all anger, in all whatever we felt… our host put on our heart not to forget that inner healing is a journey. A journey that started in that moment we welcomed Jesus in our lives. And a journey that never ends. The whole life with Jesus is a journey which brings healing if we allow him to come into the darkness and brokenness of our hearts.
When a child gets hurt, there are feelings hurt. When a child doesn’t get his needs, there are wounds left; emotional wounds of rejection, abandonment, failure, fear,… And then we learn to survive in our environment because our limbic system automatically regulates emotions. So as a child (even as a baby!) we start recording things and pick up the environment. Our cortex is among other things responsible for space and time. But because the cortex doesn’t connect with the emotional brain (the limbic system), the feelings don’t know time and space. This means that when we grow up, the wounds and the pain are still there!
Our natural reaction is to hide wounds and pain because we are afraid of them, of what others think of us. But perfect love casts out fear (1. John 4,18)!

When we stood on top of the crater at Mount Paka, our host pointed out that the whole land area we could see is unreached beyond the horizon. It is indescribable to not just hear this or be pictured on a map but to see it with your own eyes.
Let’s ask ourselves:
Where is my heart unreached? In what part of it didn’t I let God in? Where do I need to encounter his healing power from past wounds, pain, judgements, soul ties…?
Invite Jesus into all of it! He is already waiting. He is knocking to enter your hidden parts.
And get ready for this lifelong journey!

Thank you, Joel Beauchamp, for pouring into us.
