You may be wondering what does this title mean? Well, let me gladly inform you all whats taking place this month. It’s called Man-istry month and all the men have come together to form a team. We have six gentleman, including our squad leader. But not only that, it’s also Unsung Heroes, which means that this month we have no set agenda for ministry, housing, food, etc. but truly relying on God to lead us into whatever he has plan. We are pioneering into 2 countries that the World Race has never been to before, they are Suriname and French Guiana

We are currently in Suriname (dutch speaking country)until Tuesday the 11th, then we will be heading to French Guiana (own by France) for a couple of days because we have to meet our squad (31 individuals) at the Brazil border by the 15th to adventure on the Amazon river until debrief which is the 30th. We will be making stops along the river set aside that we will still be in our teams.

So what have the men being doing so far?

We arrived in Suriname on the 5th where we spent a couple days pressing into each other. It’s often times that we forget as men that we struggle along this journey as a Christian. Very seldom will we have the chance to be on a team all together because the truth is that there is more women on the mission field than men. We have been taking this time to be vulnerable with the struggles that we face in life and learning how to seek out true community with other men. After about 3 days, our squad leader had lunch with his friend whom he grew up with in Indonesia. He had invited us to church this past Sunday where the Lord gave us a clear vision for ministry while in French Guiana.

How did that happen?

After church service we mingled and met with Pastor Irving explaining who we are and what we do as world racers. He grabbed a brother in the church named Paul, who we also shared what we were doing. We told him that we had plans to leave for French Guiana on Wednesday the 12th. Paul asked what is stopping you from going on Tuesday? We looked at each other startled and our team leader said nothing. Paul said great you can ride with me because I’ve been praying that I didn’t have to drive to French Guaina by myself. With excitement, our team was thrilled to see that God was speaking to us through Paul. But it didn’t stop there because Paul has good relationships with people at the ferries and border of French Guiana and Brazil. He is even getting us into to interior parts of the Amazon where we will have the opportunity to work with unreach tribes. After that, Pastor Irving invited us to a Birthday party for one of the women in the church who was turning 50. Then he have us money for lunch which we used for pizza that we all haven’t had in awhile.

So that’s what has been taking place these past several days. I don’t know what the area will consist of that were entering into. In saying that, it may be a month or less before I can send out another update. I want to thank you all for praying over me and my squad, supporting me financial, and encouraging me through this journey. I’m only $4,541 away from being fully funded. That means I have already reached 75% of my funding which is $13,170. I’m almost at my goal because of you all making it possible. So will you help me finish strong in my funding which is due by Nov. 30th.
