The Demons Don’t Belong Here

The Holy Spirit

Is All of God’s love for me,

He will protect me

My God is loving

He will always have my back

He will protect me

Jesus Christ is Lord

He died for all of my sins

He will protect me

I am loved by God

My God, My God, is so good

He will protect me

There’s nothing better

Than all of God’s love for me

He will protect me

The spiritual

World may be a danger, yet

He will protect me

My God is with me

The demons don’t belong here

I have been set free

“Jesus said sternly

Be quiet! Come out of them!

And the spirit left”

~Mark 1:25-26

Our squad had a chance to meet up with the 11-n-11 squad (that is also W squad!) for 3 days during an event called an “Awakening”

During the Awakening we had ministry with the other W squad, and we walked with Megersa, the Children’s village Director, to visit a nearby village. As we walked, kids came over to us and held our hands and wanted their picture taken. We went to a field where we watched a man who was harvesting the wheat. We passed some women who offered us some bread made out of a fake banana tree root.

Later, a hunched over woman who is older than 50; named Mulu, approached us and asked for healing for her back, and we prayed for her. She then straightened up and was able to stand fully upright. Then Megersa told us that she wanted to accept Jesus into her life; we cheered and began praying for her. As we prayed, she shrieked and began rolling on the ground. Megersa told us that she had demons inside of her, and we continued to pray over her and walked her to the Lutheran church nearby. As we got nearer, Mulu was walking slower and slower, and we almost had to drag/carry her onto the church’s property. At the church, the pastor read Mark 1:21-28, and we prayed over Mulu again. She began to shriek and roll around because the demons were taking control of her and they were mad and in pain from the fire of the Holy Sprit being forced upon them. We continued to pray and ordered the demons to leave and go back to their world. When she had quieted, the pastor said that the demons had released her, and that he was very thankful for us bringing her there. Mulu stayed there with the pastor, and as we walked back to the HOPEthiopia base, Megersa told us that she would be going back to the church every week so that the pastor could check up on her.

The pastor has asked HOPEthiopia to help her because she has nothing, and Megersa is going to talk to our ministry host, Ralph, about that. Megersa has planned to have the group of us that were with him to go visit Mulu with the pastor to check up on her and make a relationship with her. The woman told the pastor to tell us that God has saved her life.

The demons spoke to Megersa as we were praying and they told her that:

  • She had 6 demons inside her
    • 3 different kinds: Buddha, Satan, Witchcraft
      • 2 wanted to make her lose everything
      • 2 wanted her to get sick
      • 2 wanted to kill her with that sickness
  • The demons took everything from her;
    • Her house (fire)
    • Her husband
    • Her children’s love
  • Killed her husband with sickness and had a plan to kill her
  • The demons have been growing with her, her whole life
  • Her kids are married, yet they don’t like her because she had the demons in her
  • She now lives beside her brother because no one else would help her

A demon flew from her mouth and her back was healed

  • The demons completely released her in the church
  • Demons took control of body and she began to roll around and shriek
  • Demons were in pain because of the fire of God from us, and were very mad
  • In the place of praying, there is a fire of the Holy Spirit
  • We ordered the demons to go back to their world
  • Around older than 50.
  • God saved her life.

“They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach. The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law. Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out, “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.” News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.” Mark 1:21-27 NIV
