I am eighteen (now nineteen) years old and I am extremely excited to see what God has planned for me next. I will be going on Route 1 to Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Thailand.

From a young age, I’ve felt a need and passion to be a part of missions. When the guest speakers come in during church they have my close attention, and I always make it a point to have a personal conversation with the missionaries before they go back on the field. With my youth group I was in the student leadership crew and I also serve as a leader for the Sparks group at Awana. I have done week long missions trips to Portland, Maine, Rhode Island, and around the community. This will be my first time out of the country. I have learned that  it doesn’t matter how far you travel, you can be a missionary anywhere; which is why I take pride in the fact that even though I haven’t yet traveled, I am still a missionary for the Lord.

While I go on this World Race journey, I hope to be shaped by God and be ready for whatever he has planned for me. I would like to grow in my maturity as a Christian and a person. I would also like to be able to understand the world more and what professions are needed to help people in a global perspective, rather than just in the “American” perspective. I would like to be able to gain the opportunity to create friendships with people that I would not normally get the chance of meeting. I would also love to be a part of a Christian community that enhances my ability to preach the word of God to others, and feel more confident in my faith.
