You know as I sat at our ministry, Conexion By the way a awesome blog will be coming out soon about this amazing ministry soon! We had a moment to take a break after 2 days of ministry while everyone was checked in and I sat beside well kinda beside Abuelo (grandpa) let me tell you a bit about abuelo. He is a 84 year old man who is healthy other than having diabetes. When I first met him all he could do was smile and just to see him look at his sons and daughter working and having fun made me happy. I found out he had diabetes at the supper table when he pulled out his medication. At that very moment I was just thanking God for my diabetes. For such a time as this I had diabetes. There was another teenage boy named Simon which is also going to be a blog!!!!! As we sat at the supper table he carryed on with my team laughing and cutting up. Somehow we started to talk about how his wife of 60 something years this grown 84 year old man broken down crying. We sat and heard him talk it was so memorable and a blessing to hear this part of his testimony. I just personally grew to love this man. He just reminded me of my Pa. As we sat there and everyone else went off their way Simon and I where just sitting their with him. I asked abuelo “Puedes ser mi abuelo?” His face lit up, he smiled great big and started speaking way to fast spanish for me to keep up. Anyway back to my sitting with abuelo. He put his handout so I reached out to high five it. He placed his hand back again I did the same. After two times of high fiving he finally looked behind and said something in Spanish. I didn’t understand but I went to high five again and he grabbed my hand. We sat for a good 10 minutes holding hands. Break time was over and blood pressures needed to be taken. The hole team formed a big bond with this host family and it was just beautiful. As I sat there holding abuelo hand it made me think this is what God calls us to do. He calls us to sit and hold hands with 84 year old abuelos that you gain through 3 days of ministry. It’s to show love to the ones who have family surrounding them but still feel hurt due to a lost.
This is ministry.

Yes God wants us to bring people to Him but He also wants us to remind the family He already has about his love is the same yesterday and forever.
Having a common ground of both being type one diabetic he blessed me in being 84 years old and dancing, walking, and me blessing him about how I’m not embarrased about my diabetes and calling him my abuelo.
I thank God for ministry as a lifestyle and for the blessings poured out. When we show the love of Christ its like a light switch that gets turned on in the heart of people. When the lights are on you can move around more !!
