This scripture hit me hard yesterday. “Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up.” James 4:10. God has been breaking me down to a spot where I cannot do it on my own. As a born again daughter or son we are called to trust the Lord with our whole heart. We must walk in his ways and humble ourselves before his face. We may not be in the exact state of falling but we must resist the devil, draw to God and humble yourself.
Resist the devil. James 4:7 says “resist the devil and he will flee from you.” We have living inside of us the creator of all. Ruler of all. So he/we have the power to resist the devil when he trys to attack. The devil tempt you harder because that is what he does. But he has no authority because he is the creator of nothing good. Constantly keeping the word and power of God in your forefront and through your whole body. He cannot win if you keep coming against him with the Word of God.
Draw near to God. James 4:8 says simply ” Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.” God is such a gentleman and will not push you. Only as far as you want him to. I like this saying that the worship leader at training camp said ” God is like a cheetah running after his prey. God just runs as far as your running and will capture you and love on you when you are ready to turn around. Even though God is in heaven James 4:5 says “but his spirit dwells within us.” We have a direct line to God through the holy spirit. The spirit in an interceser
Humble yourself. “Humble yourself before the Lord and he will lift you up.” James 4:10. If we go to God humbly He will lift you up. Humble means having or showing a modest or low estimate of ones own importance. Pride is a sin and sin let’s the devil enter. But if we change our mindset to humble we will be blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
