Hey everyone! So for a while now I have known our first assignment, and for some reason, I have neglected to share it with everyone, but I shall no longer be mean and withhold information! Here it is. So, I think I may have told many of you that our first country is Peru. Well, just like the World Race staff says, “Be open and ready for change at all times,” things have changed. Our first country is actually going to be Ecuador. We will be flying out of Miami July 13th for Quito, Ecuador. From there, we will be heading to a little village called Huaticocha, Ecuador. There, we will be staying in a church and working with a ministry called Inka Link(inkalink.net). We will be doing visitations, evangelism, and VBS with that ministry. So there it is!
Also, for all my supporters, first off, I just want to say thank you again for everything! As I am getting close to launch, I have a couple things to ask. First is to subscribe to my blog and comment often(There is a link on the left hand side, I think, that you click to subscribe). Its an easy way for me to know people are enjoying it and your comments are a great encouragement to me! Secondly, please if you feel lead, continue to support me. I am getting close to fully funded, but I do still need more help. Lastly, but super important, is pray for me and for the entire squad. I know myself, and a lot of others on my squad, are being attacked by the enemy a lot in the weeks coming up to our launch date. Pray that God will help us to remember that the enemy is just scared because of all the great things we will be doing in this next year. I have been attacked from just about every angle in the last couple weeks, and prayer is a huge help! Also, I have prayer cards, so if anyone would like one, leave your address as a comment and I will mail one out to you as soon as possible.
Third, my mother is throwing me a going away party this Sunday, at my home church, Peruville New Testament at 2:30pm. Everyone who reads my blog is welcome to come! I would love to see you all there.
Lastly, a little update on what i have been up to since my last update, if you all are interested. It has been a super fun couple of weeks, and I am so thankful for all that I have been able to do. Since my last post, I have been able to compete in a 5k, a 7 mile trail run, a 30 mile cycling race, and a sprint triathlon. All of which I didnt think I was going to be able to do before I left. And, for the first time ever, in the 30 mile cycling race, I beat my dad in an endurance event! Its been a long time in the making, and its about time! I only beat him by 5 seconds, but its better than nothing. But everything was back to normal fashion in the rest of the events, where he successfully kicked my butt.
We also went to Pocono, PA for a family vacation. While we were there, we went horseback riding, hiking, to a waterpark, and my sister and I went skydiving! The skydiving was a huge surprise. I jokingly brought it up to my dad before we left on vacation to see what he would say, and he actually let me go. I think he let me go because he just wanted to see if I could follow through on it. It was definitely an awesome experience!
