Hello from South Africa! Our squad is on debrief right now, taking time to rest and reflect on the past couple of months. We also got new teams! Our team name is Kainoseros which is a combination of kainos, greek for “new/fresh” and also the word rhinoceros. I bet you’re wondering how we got that… so we decided we wanted our team identity around the idea of newness- new people, new opportunities, new ways of relating to God, etc. When figuring out how to pronounce it, one of our teammates said it sounds like rhinoceros. After laughing and messing around with ideas we land with Kainoseros. We liked how it was fun and also tied to something meaningful for us.
Here is a photo from our safari day! From left to right starting in the back: Shiloh, Shawn, Jacob, Amanda, Sharon, Lauren and me.
We’re off to Swaziland tomorrow morning and our entire squad will be together at an Adventures in Missions base in one of the main cities. We’ll find out what we’re doing once we’re there. This past month we’ve been at Harvesters Church in Lesotho and we made a lot of relationships and saw a lot of people commit their lives to God. Hard to believe we’re going into month 5 and are working our way towards the halfway point!
Much love and peace,
Eva
P.S. Still raising the final $1,500 or so. Click on donate if it’s on your heart to give! Thanks for all your love and support to get me here 🙂
