Hi! My name is Eva (like foreva-eva haha)

I am originally from the Pacific Northwest and I love it here. I teach 1st grade in Sammamish and I have incredible co-workers and students. It will be sad to leave, but I’m really excited for the adventure ahead!

A few more random fun facts about me:

I’m a city girl at heart. Seattle has been my home for the past 5 years.

I spend a lot of time hanging out with my Young Life girls. I love them dearly. I appreciate the support that community of people has brought me the past few years.

I LOVE traveling and learning about cultures, hence a reason why I’m doing the World Race. I studied abroad in high school for a summer and picked up some Italian. Given my last name is Italian, it was an easy choice. I also did my student teaching at a military base in Germany and took ballet classes from my mentor teacher. She met her husband in a ballet class when she first moved to Germany! He was a professional ballerina. This brings me to my next point…

Ballet is an old love of mine. I miss the studio often.

One day I’d really like to write a children’s story. I enjoy reading Mo Willems books and if you’re an elementary teacher or a mom to young kids you know what I’m talking about it. Seriously the best read aloud books ever. I get so animated when I read them haha

Penguins are my favorite animal. I have a collection in my classroom that is steadily growing.

I went to Washington State University for my undergrad (Go Cougs!) and I completed my master’s degree at the University of Washington. Some of my Husky friends say I’m both and I say they’re wrong 🙂 #cougforlife

I love the ocean and the color of turquoise.

When it comes to food, I’ll most likely choose Thai or a good brunch spot. I also eat avocado toast basically every day.

I really feel at peace being outside. One of my hobbies is trekking, especially in other countries. My goal is to trek in every continent (aside from Antarctica, obviously). Iceland has been my favorite so far.

My personality type on the enneagram is a 9 (Peacemaker) and some of the traits from the strength finder test are: connectedness, empathy, developer, learner and positivity. On the Myers Briggs I’m an INFP. I think they all go together?

I consider the Churchome, formally The City Church, a catalyst to deepening my faith. There have been so many amazing people and friends I’ve made because of that church and I’m forever grateful.

I love Jesus and I love people. I believe in the value of every human being. We each have a unique purpose on this earth and it’s our joy to discover it.

Please pray for me on this wild adventure and consider supporting me with a donation so I’m able to help people along their own life journey.

Peace & Love,

Eva
