Well once again…I’ve been humbled. Things change, assignments shift, and the Lord continues to so sweetly remind me that He is in control. Remember my last post about the process of being assigned Squad Support Coach instead of the position of Squad Story Leader for Photo/Video? Yeah…well scratch that conclusion. I’m no longer support coach. The door opened for me to Story Leader, an arena of ministry that I am extremely passionate about, and after much prayer and deliberation, I accepted the invitation.

God was sweet to remind me of the story of Abraham and Isaac in scripture. He showed me that He doesn’t want my photography, my video skills, or my creative vision. (He already has all that, because they are gifts from HIM! Ha!) He just wanted my heart. My willing heart. He wanted me to be fully yoked to Himself, His plan, and the journey He has for me…not the gifts. So He asked me to lay down the desire to lead in the arena I so desired to. And after being humbled time and time and time and again…I finally did. I laid it all down at His feet.

Well…like a good, good Father…He opened the door again. He showed me that He has a plan to USE these gifts for His Kingdom, and it was never going to work if my heart was yoked to the gifts and not the One who gave them in the first place. I was offered the position of squad story leader for photo/video, and I accepted.

I am so excited to be moving forward with this responsibility. What this will entail is this: I will have the blessing of being able to encourage my teammates and squadmates to tell the stories of the people we encounter on the field, and how God is moving through the medium of photo/video. We will use our natural creative giftings that the Lord has given us to tell the compelling stories of how He is working overseas, and advocate for people who need an audience and a voice for their needs.

Theme? Be flexible. Be humble. Things change.

I can’t wait to tell y’all the stories. Stay tuned.
