I’m really excited to start this new adventure, The World Race, and I invite you all to join me. I’m pumped to share with you how God is moving in my life and what’s going on in the months leading up to and while I’m on The World Race. This blog is where I’ll post all of my updates.

For those of you who don’t know me here is a bit about me.

I’m 18 years old and I live at a Young Life camp in Central Oregon called Washington Family Ranch. (For those of you who don’t know, Young Life is a Christian organization that focuses on sharing the Good News with kids and walking through life with them.) My family moved here in 1998 so I have grown up here in a community of about 150 people my whole life.  I am a senior and I do online school (the nearest high school is an hour and a half away).

I literally couldn’t ask for a better family. I have two loving parents, Todd and Gina, who have brought me up teaching me about the love of God. I have four siblings: Braeden (age 20), Jeremiah (16), Corynn (14), and Titus (9). Living out here in the middle of nowhere I have grown to love each of them so much.

Lately I have been super busy with school, work, Young Life, family, and applying for The World Race. Some of my hobbies include hiking, exercising (BEACHBODY!!!), and reading. My favorite books include Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Mere Christianity, and Redwall, particularly in that order. Calvin and Hobbes too! I’m not sure if that counts but I love them!

I also love playing board and card games with my family and friends. My favorite games are Cosmic Encounter, Shadows Over Camelot, Splendor, Seven Wonders, and Dominion. Spikeball is definitely my favorite sport! xD I have always loved music and for years have wanted to learn how to play guitar. Just recently I have finally committed to learning and I have really enjoyed it so far.

The perfect day for me would consist of getting in a good workout with my bros, chilling in my hammock reading Calvin and Hobbes or Lord of the Rings while drinking my favorite green tea, going on a walk through camp, and then enjoying a good game and movie with my fam while chowing down on some homemade whole wheat waffles.

Living out here in this amazing Christian community my whole life I have been so blessed by God. I have truly tasted and seen His goodness and wouldn’t give up my growing up experience for anything. That doesn’t mean life has been without it’s struggles. It has left me broken and empty at times. But through it all I have learned that Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. I have realized that only God can overcome my struggles. And only when I submit to Him.

As I said before, I’m super thrilled to start this adventure that is The World Race! I’ve never been on a missions trip. I’ve hardly ever even gone camping! But I’ve felt the Lord calling me to this for over a year now and who am I to question Him? I’m excited to go outside my comfort zone and have to rely on God every day! I love serving and sharing His love to others and I will get that opportunity every day on the Race. During the Race my eyes will be opened to pains and hurts of the world I have never seen. I know God will use this experience to grow me and my teammates in ways we would never grow in the comforts of home. I believe He will use this experience to guide my steps into His perfect plan of service and love once I come back home.

I would love your prayers and support as I navigate this fundraising process.
