Hello Team member!
I am so excited to share with you what God has been doing in me, and some of the opportunities that I believe He is calling me into! For the past few years I have been working hard in school, getting the good grades and doing the typical “college student” life. However I feel that God is calling me out of this “normal” lifestyle for a time, and calling me to an exciting opportunity to follow Him. God has been working in me, especially over the past few months, teaching me patience for his perfect timing and trusting in Him faithfully. In continuing to trust in God, I believe that he is calling me out of “the norm” and calling me to follow Him across the nations.
The past few months have been filled with looking into schools, degrees and prayerfully asking God what the next step in what I thought would be academically, and His answer caught me abruptly, and incredibly off guard. I learned about an organization called Adventures in Missions (ADV) and a ministry called the World Race, and started to feel the calling.
The World Race is an 11-month long commitment to live like Jesus did, and travel without borders telling people about the Love of our Father. I am not going to preach condemnation, but to speak life through love to people living in darkness. I am going in order to show the love of Jesus Christ, not with an attitude of judgment, but to invite them to know the Lord personally, by showing them that He loves them and that He is not angry at them like I feel so many people believe. Through my travels I will be visiting 11 countries: India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, China, Mongolia and the Philippines. In all of these places I fully expect God to show up and impact the lives of all of those around us, including my own. I will be working with churches and local ministries in order to reach out to orphans and plant churches; I will be walking the streets of the slums and ministering to the broken and needy by telling them about God’s love. I will be going into bars and working with my team in order to stop the sex trafficking that is such a massive industry, especially in Thailand. I will be going where Christians otherwise “shouldn’t go” and exposing the love of God for His people by being His hands and feet! We will be the shining light of God’s love in the darkest places… taking on hell with a water pistol and doing everything we can to love on people! This trip is far beyond anything that I could imagine, and I need a team of friends to support me as I pursue this journey.
Over the course of the next year, I will face many trials while out in the mission field, but currently, one of my biggest challenges is financial support. As with many other organizations, Adventures in Missions participants are required to raise their own financial support. In order to be fully funded by the time I leave on this journey in September, I need to raise $16,255 with my first deadline of $3,500 coming up soon! This money will cover everything I need while out in the field such as: training, food, gear, lodging, flights, and ground transportation for the full 11 months. My goal is to build a team of partners who are willing to support me at $100 a month (or some other amount) until I am fully funded. One-time donations are also great for helping me reach my financial deadlines. I ask you to prayerfully consider joining my team and supporting my cause of reaching out to the broken and lost through the World Race. I will continue to keep in touch with you regarding this incredible opportunity to be a part of what God is doing to change lives all over the world! Please feel free to contact me at [[email protected]] if you have any questions. I also encourage you to visit my personal blog at http://ethanwadsworth.theworldrace.org for more information and updates!
