Hey world!
My name is Ethan, and I’m from Parker, Colorado.
I enjoy playing soccer and basketball. I love listening to rock and roll & jazz. My favorite kind of food is Mexican. I like to spend summers hiking and in the mountains. I am a YoungLife kid. I love Jesus.
Life has been sweet growing up. Living in a small suburban town, with a family and friends that love me has been a picturesque childhood. Since I can remember, the family and I would take vacations to the mountains and trips to the Californian beach. Soccer filled my life, with practice during the week, and games every weekend. We are a church-going family, who lived modestly yet comfortably.
Life changed quickly when I entered high school. More pressure, more options, more stress…less, hmm whats the word, less childlike? My easy life of growing up was dissolving quickly into the adult world. Luckily I started going to YoungLife. Without this lovely organization, I would be a far different person than I a today. Through YoungLife I met lifelong friends, wise mentors, and most importantly, Jesus. As I accepted Christ at summer camp in 2013, I knew my life was going to be different.
Since then, life has still been sweet, but not without its challenges. My walk with Christ has not always been easy, but this is what challenges us to lean on Him even harder. As I live each day, He challenges me to trust in his steady hand. A life with Christ is a life with love. I strive to be in constant relation with Him, and surrender my whole.
With this surrender, I start a new adventure. I take everything that I have been told as a child in Sunday school, I take everything that I was taught at my Jesuit high school, I take everything that I have read in the Bible… and live it, live it to the fullest.
This journey will not be easy. God is sending me to places I have only seen on the map, to be with people I can only dream of…all in the name of Christ. Life will be difficult, as the road less traveled is never paved.
Often times that road needs paving. God is sending me to pave it.
Ethan
