As of Friday 3/23, I am officially unemployed. As I end roughly 7 1/2 years at HLB Tautges Redpath, Ltd, I look back warmly at the years. Yes, the work was challenging. It’s the people at TR that made it memorable. As I’ve prepared for the WR over the past several months, my friends/coworkers at TR have been extremely supportive, confirming that this is what the Lord has called me to do at this time.
Since Friday, I’ve received this question countless times: “How are you doing with ending work?”
Well, Thursday night 3/22, we celebrated, and I received wonderful encouragement & prayers from so many at TR (& former TR’ers & clients). On Friday, my last day, I worked up to 3 p.m. (it’s a CPA’s busy season after all), quickly packed up my office, and then said more “good-bye’s.” Reality hit me about 6:30 p.m. that evening when the 3rd person asked me ‘the question.’ My realization, as tears welded up in my eyes?
My work is done. On so many levels. That’s what was hard. Fortunately, as my wise brother & loving mother reminded me today, and my dear friend Em reminded me yesterday, I may rest assured:
The Lord’s work is never done.
Bonus: John 12:23-28 (Give up all for Christ’s glory); I Peter 1:23-25 (Word of God stands forever); I Cor. 3:5-7 (God makes seeds grow); & II Cor. 9:10 (He enlarges the harvest).
