Hey everybody!! I apologize for not posting recently.

Internet is harder to come by this month.

I just wanted to give a quick update as to what Peru has been like so far and what we are doing at ministry.

We are working with Savage Ministries which is an outreach ministry. The compound has a school, church and currently there is construction going on for more bathrooms and a bigger kitchen because they are working on starting an orphanage.

(More pictures to come as I can upload them – I only have a few random ones to share!)

On top of sleeping on the the roof with my teammates and a few other crazy girls, this month is also our all squad month! All seven teams are living and doing ministry together which has been a blast.

After arriving in Peru, we had 5 days of debrief. Our squad coaches, squad mentors and squad leaders were all here doing one on ones and team debriefs. We also had worship and discussion sessions, diving deeper into living a life of freedom in Christ.

During our debrief, we did an all squad fun day which was sand boarding!!

The first week of ministry was spent doing VBS for the 150+ kids in the surrounding area. Bold Radiance was assigned to be the dance team for the week and we had so much fun leaning new choreography for Spanish songs everyday. We practiced for 2 hours each morning before performing for the kids.

This was our big party for the kids at the end of VBS

We are on the outskirts of Trujillo…dirt roads, barefooted kids and trash piles left in the streets…but the people here are kind and open, not to mention extremely curious with the 45 ‘gringos’ they see walking around.

This week we have been painting, cleaning up trash, moving rock piles, and doing other manual labor around the compound.

The church has services Sunday and Wednesday night as well as youth group on Friday nights. Each team is assigned to run a service which mainly includes preaching. We have also been running services for another church Savage ministry works with closer to the center of Trujillo.

We have done door to door evangelism, prayer walks, sports ministry, and will be doing some hospital and prison ministry next week as well.

One of the most special things for me so far was preaching for the first time this past Sunday as well as being asked to baptize two of my teammates in the Pacific Ocean!!! (Blogs to come on each of those later!)

It has been a challenging month in many ways but on the other hand, a month filled with the Father’s goodness and love!

For we are His portion and He is our prize, drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes, If grace is an ocean we’d be sinking!!
