“I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course, So correct me Lord, but please be gentle.”
Jeremiah 10:23-24
Month 1 on the the race.
Bolivia.
Ministry has been great.
Our host families are wonderful.
To be completely honest though, this is not how I expected the first month to turn out.
A dearly loved member of our team (Courtney Tuttle aka Cuttle) started experiencing altitude sickness the first day we arrived. As the days progressed, she got worse and eventually ended up in numerous different clinics, a hospital, and an oxygen room/box, not to mention during the whole two weeks, she was living at a host home in lower elevation, about 30 minutes away. For the first week and a half Danielle was with her.
For what seemed like ages, two thirds of our team was missing. We have had very little time where our whole team has been together.
Today Cuttle flew out with a fellow squad mate to go stay with another team at lower altitude for the remainder of the month.
It is hard.
It feels like a family member is missing.
Abba affirmed to me again the other day:
“We can make our own plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”
Proverbs 16:9
Thank You for gently reminding me that our ways are not Your ways Lord!!
Our team is pulling through this together but it has been a good reminder that our lives are not our own. His hand is moving powerfully even in the midst of hardship and circumstances not going as planned.
He spoke to me words of encouragement and peace this morning.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
In the midst of the heat…during seasons of drought…I want to be the tree rooted firmly in the Living Water, trusting Him completely as He determines my steps.

Bold Radiance finally together one more time before Cuttle flies out for the remainder of the month!
