There is a picture of the Gordon family crest in our house which also bears the motto for the “Gordon” name. It is…
All for One and One for All!!!
This is a strikingly accurate description of my family.
To get to know me a bit better, you have to know a little about my family because they are such a huge part of who I am!
I thought it would be fun to introduce my family in order and explain some of the ways they have shaped me to be the person I am today.
If you already know the Gordon clan on a personal level, you may be entertained more thoroughly by the copious amount of pictures! ๐ Enjoy!!
~Joseph Gordon~
I heard a very impactful sermon once where the pastor conveyed lucidly that God’s heartbeat is, “Peo-ple, peo-ple, peo-ple”.
As he gently pounded his hand over his heart and the phrase made a deep, reverberating thump through the mic, it was a very powerful and real picture to me of what matters most to God…people.
Whenever I think of a man who has embodied the concept of loving God and loving people, I think of my brother Joseph!
Growing up, I would venture to say Joseph’s heart grew with his height!
He has always been one to outwardly express his affection in very real and tangible ways.
Whenever I need a ‘brother hug’, I always know he is there to genuinely give it.
Joseph and I usually don’t mind making ourselves look ridiculous for the sake of fun.
We embrace any opportunity as a way to grow…in faith, in community, in character.
That’s what I love about Joseph – he’s an “all in” kind of guy.
When he does a job, he does it well! (Yes, he actually IS a REAL and very talented blacksmith! ๐
He taught me how to work hard, never complaining about anything.
He also taught me how to play hard, doing everything as unto the Lord.
Similar to the biblical hero, Joseph is loving, patient, faithful, and a humble leader.
He has strength of character and confidence in the man God has created him to be!
Along with my other brothers, he gives me hope that chivalry is not dead!! ๐
He edifies me, building me up and encouraging me in more ways than one.
Joseph knows how to engage with people – through him I’ve learned how to value others by simply listening to them!
He’s shown me how to immediately step out in faith when you feel God calling! He is a tangible example to me that faith requires action!
I love (as with all my bros), how he is able to not only express his compassionate heart, but also encompass how God has created him to be Wild at Heart!
He invites me in on this adventure called life.
I am so thankful to have a brother who leads by example. He shows me what it means to love the Lord fully, with a knowledge that God’s heartbeat is people!
I realize I am quite spoiled but yet, humbly thankful that God would give me such an incredible man for a brother.
What can I say? I am blessed beyond measure!!
I love you bro…!
