These past four weeks have been a whirlwind. On August 13th, we began a 71 hour bus ride to Aktau, Kazakhstan. On August 17th, we got on a cargo ship to cross the Caspian Sea. We got off the ship four days later and then five days after that began our 3rd debrief. On the 31st we took a midnight train to Georgia (literally!) and on September 2nd, welcomed our parents with long, tearful, joy-filled hugs — more about PVT in a later blog. On the 7th, we said goodbye and boarded a 21 hour bus to Ankara, Turkey. We got off the bus long enough for a good meal and a full night’s sleep, then took another 10 hour bus to Çanakkale, Turkey. With all that being said, my team will be in Çanakkale for 3 WHOLE WEEKS! I cannot tell you how ecstatic we are about that!! Today is our rest day so we don’t have the full idea of what our ministry will look like, but we are very excited to be here! For those of you who have been following my journey since the beginning, you might remember that Turkey was originally on our route and then got taken off (for political reasons), and then got added back. We were actually already out of the country when we found out we were, in fact, going to Turkey. We certainly see this as an opportunity that the Lord wants to see through!

Thank you for praying with me through this journey. It has been just as much a spiritual journey for me as it has a physical one. I love and miss each one of you!

Fun Fact: The letter Ç makes the “ch” sound in Turkish!
