A couple of weeks ago I came across the book “Fervent” by Priscilla Shirer. If you haven’t read this book, I urge you to go buy a copy TODAY. Not the Kindle or eReader version, but a good ol’ fashioned hard copy to put in your hands. This is the kind of book that you write in and highlight and reread chapters over and over again so they really sink in. This is one you’re gonna want to hold onto and keep coming back to. Seriously, buy one today friends.

My team is in Haridwar, India right now. They say it’s one of the most spiritually dark places in India. I believe them. So what are we to do in the short time that we are here? How could we possibly make an impact in such a dark place? We pray. But we don’t just pray for Haridwar, we fight for Haridwar. “For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” We fight for their eyes and ears to be opened to the Gospel. For the spiritual blindness to be stripped away and replaced by the Truth of God’s Word. We fight for the ones who will come after us and for God to call workers to His harvest.

What are you fighting against today? Insecurities, fears, frustrations, anger? I challenge you to get to the root of that thing, that pesky issue that won’t seem to let up. See it for what it truly is, for it could very well be a distraction to put your focus over here instead of over there where God wants it to be.

Challenge: a call to someone to participate in a competitive situation or fight to decide who is superior in terms of ability or strength.

It’s time to fight.

Note: “Fervent” is geared toward women, but to any men who read this blog, I would urge you to consider searching out another book on strategic prayer over the enemy.
