Fourteen months ago I never thought I would get here. $18,700 truly seemed impossible. I have raised financial support for mission trips before, but this was like trying to raise money to buy a car! So how in the world does God raise $18,700?? Well, first, He’s a miracle worker so money is no problem for Him! Secondly, He enlists people to be a blessing! If you have contributed financially on any level, YOU are the reason I am here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in this journey I am on. My life has been permanently changed and because of your contributions to get me here, I will never be the same! To God be the glory for the GREAT THINGS He has done!!

Updates

A lot has happened since my last blog! It was a tough journey to get from India to Nepal and my teammate Kristine gives a great recap here. Our squad was together for a couple of weeks in Kathmandu while we waited to find out if we would get our Chinese visas. After sending our passports off with a travel agent, we finally got the news that our whole squad was approved to travel to China! God is faithful!

During our time in Kathmandu, we got new teams! It’s always hard to say goodbye to my old team, but I am thankful for the time I had to get to know them better. With our new teams we were free to minister in Kathmandu however we liked. We served a meal to the homeless with Iris Ministries, interceded in prayer at ACTS Global, led devotion with Beauty for Ashes Nepal, and covered the streets of the red light district in prayer.

When we received our passports again, it was time for our team to decide where we would serve in Nepal. This is the first month that our leadership has given us complete freedom to decide where to go! After praying about it for a couple of days, we decided that we would volunteer in Pokhara at an English Boarding School. So far we have been teaching science, ESL, math, PE, and art to Kindergarten through 10th grades. I have one other teammate with a teaching background, but it has been so inspiring to see my whole team step into this role with confidence! They are rock stars!

We wrap up our stay in Pokhara at the end of this week and then we will head back to Kathmandu for our second debrief! It’s hard to believe it’s already time for another debrief and I am so excited to see our coaches and mentor again!

Thank you all again for every single penny you have donated to this journey. And most importantly, thank you to everyone who has been praying for me! God is answering your prayers!

Fun fact: We are staying with some Korean friends this week and I’ve eaten more Korean food than Nepali food!
