Less from a year from now, I will be fully funded for the World Race. And in 175 days I will be leaving for the World Race. 175 DAYS until I leave, and my “Before I leave” to-do list is still a mile long! That is one intimidating thought that keeps bouncing around my head. Luckily, I’ve received awesome encouragement that keeps me going. As I continue my preparations for launch, I have received many questions about my fundraising. So I decided to write this, to explain all my fundraising “plans” and hopefully this will cover all your questions.

Where does all this money go?
OVERALL WR FUND BREAKDOWN
Training Camp – $320 (Covers my cultural training before I leave)
Field Support – $620 (Helps my squad receive supplies, local contacts, etc.)
WR Development Program – $1,860 (Improvements and developments)
Administrative Fees – $2,635 (Paying the staff that makes all of this possible)
World Racer – $10,075

Traveling between continents – $4,235
Food – $1,758
Lodging – $1,758
Transportation – $1,005
Long Distance Travel and Misc. – $1,115
Insurance – $650
*However this does not cover my personal expenses such as, daily money to live on while on the World Race. We live on about $3-$5 per day.*
When are the Deadlines?
MAY 1ST 2015 – $3,500 in my account- 2 weeks before training camp
JUNE 12TH 2015 – $7,500 in my account – 2 weeks before I leave
OCTOBER 1ST 2015- $11,000 in my account – 3 months out on the field
JANUARY 1ST 2016- $16,267 in my account – 6 months out on the field
It takes a Village!

If 133 people donate $10 a month for 1 year I would be fully funded and meet all my deadlines!
Replace a Netflix or Hulu year subscription for a $120 donation.
If 67 people donate $20 a month for 1 year I would be fully funded.
Replace one Starbucks drink every week for a year for a $240 donation.
If 27 people donate $50 a month for 1 year I would be fully funded.
Replace maintaining fake nails or a tanning membership for a $600 donation.
If 14 people donate $100 a month for 1 year I would be fully funded and meet all my deadlines!
Replace a gym membership (anyone’s New Year’s goal…whoops) for a $1200 donation.
As you can see, Netflix is really expensive. 🙂 That, and a monthly donation is a great way to go! You can make a huge impact by donating a little amount each month for the coming year. Don’t forget all donations are tax-deductible.
