This past Tuesday, my team did house visits in San Lorenzo. It was our very first time, and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. We visited a few houses to pray for people before visiting a house that felt different. It felt peaceful, supernaturally so. I knew that this woman was a woman of great faith.
She welcomed us into her home and began talking to our translator. She told us that she worked in the trash dump, but that God has been so good to her. Her husband had been brought home mysteriously ill the week before. She prayed for him before taking him to the hospital because she knew that she needed to go to God first. Her husband is doing much better now.
When we asked her if there was anything else that we could pray for, she told us that she had started to have trouble seeing. One of our ministry hosts had a shirt with words on, so we tested her sight on that. He stood two feet away with a shirt that had inch tall words on it. The woman couldn’t see it.
We all laid hands on her and prayed. Then we tested her sight again. She could read the words. He backed up another two feet, but she couldn’t see that far away. We prayed again, asking God for complete healing. He answered our prayers. Our friend backed up ten or twelve feet, and she could see clearly. Her eyes were watery in thankfulness. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life. God is indeed so, so good to us.
“Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be healed from your affliction.” -Mark 5:34
