I truly believe that people with a “yes” spirit will be the ones who change the world.
I have recently been inspired by Esther, who embodied a “yes” spirit.
Esther was just an average girl, an orphan even, being raised by her cousin. Through a series of events that could have only been ordained by the Lord, she was anointed as Queen.
When Esther heard of an order that had been made to kill all of the Jews, her own people, she had a choice to make. She could have laid low and not said anything, praying that her life would be spared. Or she could take a risk and confront the King, which could easily get her killed.
Believing in the power of the Lord in her, she took the risk. She stepped out and said “yes”, not knowing if it would cost her life or not.
Because she said “yes”, she was able to save the lives of all the Jews in her land.
Had she not answered that call, God still could have easily accomplished this task (I mean, He is God and He takes care of His people). He could have appointed someone else to do it. But because she said “yes”, she was able to have a hand in an incredible act of the Lord. What an honor!
What amazes me even more is that it was nothing that Esther did. She herself had no special skill or ability. She simply had a “yes” spirit and deep faith in the Lord. She said “yes” to the Lord and to justice. She said “yes” to unknown circumstances and scary possibilities. And because of that, she was the vessel that delivered an entire nation!
I admire Esther so much as I step into a new season of the World Race. Recently I said “yes” to becoming one of the squad leaders of our squad. Honestly, this was not something I anticipated or something I particularly hoped for. But, it was something the Lord gave me incredible peace about and has affirmed so many times since.
Even after committing to this new role, I had my doubts. I definitely didn’t feel like the most adequate person on the squad, and it made me nervous to step into a position of so much responsibility. I have a feeling Esther probably felt the same way.
God was faithful to her “yes” spirit, and I have complete faith that He will be faithful to mine as well. He has given me increased excitement for what this new, unknown season will hold. And I know that as long as I keep my eyes focused on Him and a “yes” in my spirit, He will do so much more through me than I will be able to do on my own.
“Your future is bright and filled with a living hope that will never fade away. As you listen to me, my beloved child, you will grow in wisdom and your heart will be drawn into understanding, which will empower you to make the right decisions.” Proverbs 23:18-19 TPT
“Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. So keep your thoughts continuously fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising Him always. Follow the example that we have imparted to you and the God of peace will be with you in all things.” Philippians 4:6-8 TPT

My amazing former teammate and now Co-Squad Leader, Holly! She’s really super great and I am so pumped we get to lead together!
