This week went by so quickly. I had so many new experiences, so I wanted to give you the HIGHLIGHTS.

– Every week we have an Adventure day. Our team decided to go Cliff Jumping at Canyon de Samoto. (For 5 hours) It was unreal. So beautiful, and so much fun! I’ve never been cliff jumping before, and I plan on doing it again. Considering its very very hot here nothing was better then swimming in cold water all day. 3 of my friends jumped off a 66 foot cliff!! How crazy! I obviously did not, but it was crazy just watching. If you ever find yourself in Palacaguina GO cliff jumping at Canyon de Samoto you will NOT regret it.

This is a Picture of My team (minus Morgan) and one of our Host Osman!

– Every day one of the Girls gets to help cook in the kitchen with Danny, and Jayouska our sweet cooks. I didn’t think I’d be very good at it, because once again I do NOT speak Spanish. Surprisingly it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Theres something so special about cooking foods from a different culture, and not speaking the language of the cooks. I mainly cut a lot of vegetables, and then Danny let me fry the Plaintains! I loved seeing how they cook our meals. Jayouska is such a sweet gentle woman of God. Whenever I see her I just want to smile. She was so very patient with me in the Kitchen. Danny is the married to William, and they are both so graciously hosting us at their beautiful home. Danny would let me try a lot more difficult things in the kitchen, she would always try and make conversation with me. I got to bond a lot with them. Im so grateful for them they make me feel at home.

– Morgan (our squad leader) gave us a heads up that we will be introduced to all the churches we visit in a very different way then we are used to in the states. Pastor David called us in front of the church, and had us sign our names on a map they had painted on the wall. It was so honoring. Then he had us stand in a line in front of the stage, and the ENTIRE congregation gave every one of us hugs. They had music blasting. I was very humbled, but at the same time I didn’t understand why they were doing this. I feel like I haven’t done much to deserve all of the love they were showing us. They continually show us hospitality, and love.
Thanks so much for reading, and continually praying for me and my team.
