For ministry this week, we have been working at the construction site of a house. There was a man who worked for the ministry we work at, and about a month ago his house burnt down. This means that for the past month his family has been living in a shack and an earthquake tent. About 2 weeks ago, the man passed away unexpectedly, sadly leaving his 6 children and his wife.

The first day we were at the work site, we were instructed to pick up trash and debris that had been strewn about the property from the fire. So basically, I walked around with a big trash bag and had to pick up paper plates, bottles, paper- you get the picture. And let met tell yah, I was not really feeling it. It was hot, on a hill, windy, and dusty. But then, the Lord spoke something to me.

He said,

“I’m doing that in your heart right now”.

wowza I was wrecked. The Lord reminded me that he is literally removing the junk from my heart in order to continue making me more like Him. Piece by piece and day by day he is slowly refining me, pulling the trash out of my heart so that I can do his work and glorify Him. Even though I can’t always see the big picture, I trust and believe that his work is good and the end result is good.

2 Corinthians 4:16 “So we are not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.”
