I work in the therapy department of a Skilled Nursing Facility or Rehab hospital as a therapy tech. It’s pretty diverse work. On any given day I transform from glorified secretary to hero. It’s a decent gig as far as work goes. However, there is one major problem, other than some quarrels with management, my uniform. Day in, day out its the same. 40 hours a week spent in a black polo shirt and khaki pants. Who picked this dismal color combination? I have no idea, but for a girl in LOVE with color, more specifically neon, the person undoubtedly needs to be fired. And so, I have been forced to add shades of life to my drab working wolrd. Color therapy in a rehab setting. Neon green socks, bright pink layering tank tops and red nail polish are some of the ways I fight off boredom in my work uniform. Let’s just say wherever I can add colors that are not black and or a shade of beige…I do so.
