I am safely in Hong Kong, China and will soon be en route to Manila, Philippines.

These past few days have been a series of firsts and lasts coupled with an array of new discoveries. I ate my last meal on American soil and have enjoyed my first Starbucks coffee overlooking the mountains surrounding Hong Kong. I discovered that my hands are the exact same size as the legendary Bing Crosby. I learned that I am as cheesy of a tourist as I am an avid adventurer. I ate what will most likely become my last burrito for a year and consumed my first “typical Asian” dish on the airplane. My breakfast of seafood congee, a rice based soup filled with fish, shrimp, mushrooms, and scallions, was by far the most out of place morning meal I have ever eaten. Manila is on the horizon and we will arrive there in a few hours. Travel days are exhausting, but the prize for such excursion, is a bed in Manila and the start of a journey that will change my life forever. I guess, I would say, in my humble opinion, that is totally worth it.
