Nasekia (I can hear)

Nasekia. The most beautiful word in the Swahili language when from the mounth of a 12 year old girl whose deaf ear was just made whole. For the first time in her life Lucy could hear.

Nasekia was all she could say.

Before the World Race, I lived in a “reality” where miracles were things of the past. Healing from God was an amazing thing burried in ancient manuscripts and amidst the parables of Jesus. And, until recently, I believed that was where they were meant to stay.

I cannot explain what happened to Lucy any better than a kindergartener can articulate the theory of electrolytic disassociation. Miracles, can only be explained by faith. It is our faith and trust in Christ that perpetuates the supernatural. Nothing we can say, do or even pray will ever make us worthy of seeing a miracle or being chosen to be the vessel of the Holy Spirit.

Faith. That’s what healed Lucy’s ear. That’s what healed another womans torn shoulder ligament. It’s what healed a baby of malaria. It’s what saved my life. God is calling us to be children of faith. I for one am listening.

Nasekia.
