Whew. I just finished packing the backpack and day pack that I will carry for the next 11 months. With all the preparations, lists, shopping trips to REI and Target, organizing, and packing, along with the week of training camp, much prayer and anticipation, I am ready for this adventure to begin!
I am going to bed tonight with a heart full of peace and joy. I received a facebook message from a former student tonight. She sent me the reference for Romans 15:13,
so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."
I have been so blessed with hugs, prayers, and words of encouragement and support from family, friends, coworkers, and students this past week. God has given me an amazing support system. Thank you for your emails, texts, voicemails, cards, hugs, kisses, tears, and love. I will miss you all dearly, but look so forward to what this next year will bring as I am shaped and molded through my encounters and adventures on the World Race.

Thank you for your partnership in this with me!
My flight leaves Reagan National tomorrow around 1:30pm (EST) and I will arrive in Chicago around 2:30pm (CDT). I'm planning to meet up with a couple of friends from my squad for dinner and then we will go to our hotel, get settled, and meet up for the evening sessions for team leaders and team treasurers. The rest of my squad will arrive on Wednesday afternoon. We will have more squad and team time together before leaving for Africa!
Our route changed slightly (and may change again), so I wanted to update you all on the plan as of now.
October- South Africa
November- Swaziland
December- China
January- Philippines
February- India
March- Romania
April- Ukraine
May- Honduras

I think that's all for tonight. I am so thankful for each of you and for the role you have played in my life and this new adventure…taking LOVE to the NATIONS.
