My teammates have been posting "50 Things About Me" to get to know each other. I don't really think there are 50 interesting things to share about myself, but I will give it a try!
1. I was born on my mom's birthday, so we celebrate together each year. Sharing a birthday is cool, but I think my mom has gotten jipped over the years.
2. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher in first grade.
3. My favorite sport to play is basketball.
4. My favorite sport to watch is football (STEELER NATION!).
5. I'm a PK and pretty normal (in my opinion).
6. I wore glasses in elementary school and contacts in middle school. In 9th grade I got a black eye during a game of kickball from a classmate's elbow. When I went to the eye doctor to check for any bone damage, my vision test came back as 20/20!
7. I love singing.
8. My favorite song to dance it out to is "Don't Stop Believin" by Journey.
9. I have taught fourth grade for seven years. Fourth grade is THE BEST.
10. I am halfway done with my master's in Educational Administration and Supervision.
11. I have been to 21 of the 50 states in the U.S.
12. Countries I have been to include: England, Germany, Ghana, Jamaica, Bahamas, and Canada
13. I will turn 30 on the World Race!
14. I do not have a sense of smell. This may come in handy on the World Race.
15. I am the oldest of three children. I have a brother and a sister, and I am blessed to have them!
16. My parents are supportive, loving, and adorable.
17. I love calendars and planning.
18. I appreciate and love hand-written notes…giving and receiving.
19. Emma is my favorite Jane Austen novel.
20. I was named after two of the characters from the TV show The Waltons…Erin and Elizabeth.
21. I love being near water…ocean, lake, or river.
22. I was always the first one to fall asleep at sleepovers.
23. I have broken two bones. I broke my wrist in second grade at a roller skating party. I broke my ankle playing ultimate trash can basketball on the first night of a mission trip in Chicago during college.
24. The Westing Game is my favorite novel from elementary school.
25. I enjoy cleaning and organizing.
26. I am not very skilled or creative when it comes to cooking.
27. I am intrigued by anything from the 18th and 19th centuries.
28. I was blessed to give a kidney to my cousin in May 2010. Celebrating 2 years of health and God's goodness!
29. I have been a bridesmaid 6 times (maid of honor twice).
30. Most people think that I'm an extrovert, but I border on introvert/extrovert. I get my energy from alone time.
31. I don't like having more than 15 emails in my inbox at a time.
32. A sunny day with a light breeze is the best.
33. I wish I had a garden.
34. Tulips are my favorite flower.
35. Purple is my favorite color.
36. My favorite verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
37. I love buying and giving gifts.
38. My love languages are quality time, acts of service, gifts, and physical touch.
39. When I meet someone, I notice their teeth and eyebrows (I'm weird).
40. I make lists of things to do. I feel productive when I cross things off.
41. I can often be too task-oriented (see #40). I am working on this.
42. I like to truncate words. I realize some people find this annoying.
43. I have lived in NJ, PA, and VA.
44. I love avocado.
45. Thankfulness is the best antidote.
46. I ask for God to give me His supernatural peace and joy each day.
47. I get my caffeine fix from coffee and Diet Coke.
48. I usually prefer salty over sweet.
