This is The World Race so it wouldn't exactly be that without a little bit of ridiculousness. One of those things is related to watermelon. It has been fantastic in Serbia. After our little picnic in the park, someone got the great idea that we should have a National Serbian Watermelon Day. On that day, our team of 6 would eat Ben's weight in watermellon. Ben weighs roughly 135 pounds. No mom, this was not my idea and I was hoping it might go away. It didn't.

Let the challenge begin. Midnight on Sunday night/Monday morning. In order around the table, Emily, Ben, me, Jenny, Michael and Staci.
Monday was that day and so at midnight we pulled out our big knife went to town on some watermelon. We decided to partner up because of refrigerator space and so Jenny and I started in on an 11 lb watermellon at midnight. By 12:30, we looked pregnant, but the watermelon was no more.
Finishing up the last of Jenny and my first watermelon.
Yes, I was up about every hour to use the bathroom through the night. I had practice in the morning outside with no bathroom close so I didn't eat any when I woke up. I was amused as someone had smashed a watermelon all over the outdoor court we were using for practice so it was like I couldn't escape watermelon.
I returned to the house about 12:30 and Jenny and I went to work to knock out our second watermelon that weighed just over 20lbs. I had to leave at 3:30, but Jenny only had about 1/8 left to finish as I had consumed my part.
Unfortunately, the rest of the team was not as committed to the challenge. I found out later they abandoned the task so although Jenny and I had consumed our part, we fell far short:(
Emily was not enthused about eating anymore watermelon.
They did decide we were the watermelon eating champions of Serbia so I'll take that title with me to Romania although I will never try to consume that much watermelon in a single day again.
Just another day in the life on The World Race.
